Acoustic emission

What is it?

The acoustic emission is a technique for non-destructive testing, based on the acquisition of the ultrasonic signals, usually frequency between 50 kHz and 1 MHz, emitted by a material under stress as a result of irreversible phenomena (corruption, degradation, corrosion effort) that occur during the test.
